Supporting organisations succeed with capital appeals
From the initial feasibility study to mentoring and supporting your staff and volunteers, or taking a hands-on role to coordinate the fundraising, we can help you raise the funds you need for your capital project.
Capital Appeals are one of our key specialist skills and our consultants have worked on successful projects for many organisations, including schools, colleges, hospitals and more. Here’s what we’ve done for others…
The Neurotherapy Centre
We supported the Neurotherapy Centre, an organisation supporting people with long-term neurological conditions, to help them attract quick funding to take advantage of an expansion opportunity, nearly doubling their physical footprint and allowing them to offer more support and greatly increase their impact.
We helped them develop a strategy focused on identifying those most likely to give and approaching them for funding, while maintaining their revenue income. We also helped them develop the case for support and provided mentoring and advice as the campaign proceeded. With our support, they were able to secure the funding they needed in time, and the expansion project was able to proceed.
The National Army Museum
We were appointed by the National Army Museum to put a robust strategy in place to enable them to complete their capital appeal for their major £23.75 million redevelopment project. We identified the issues that were preventing the successful conclusion of the appeal and looked at where the opportunities lay to build strong relationships with potential donors. We were then appointed to oversee the fundraising campaign during this twelve-month period and assigned a senior consultant to work as Appeal Director at the Museum, where we exceeded the target set.
Bedford College
Bedford College asked us to help them with raising funds for anew £5.2m Advanced Engineering Centre. Their existing facilities, while excellent for traditional and heavy engineering teaching, were not suitable for newer, lighter analytical equipment and there was a lack of flexible space where imagination and creativity could prosper.
We set out a clear strategy for the college, based on grants, corporate support and developing a major donor programme. We also supported them to hire their first ever fundraiser, and provided mentoring support during the appeal, helping them run cultivation events, develop proposals and build relationships with funders. The new Buchanan Centre is now open and providing an inspirational environment for students and helping prepare them for a career in engineering.
