As Olympic-fever grips the nation, we take a look at some of the charities going for gold with Olympic-themed fundraising campaigns.

London’s Air Ambulance

London’s Air Ambulance Charity is asking supporters to cheer on Team GB and raise vital funds to help them continue to deliver an advanced trauma team to London’s most critically injured patients with their Olympics 2024 Sweepstake. The idea is for groups to run a sweepstake ofall the Olympic events, and the event that gains the most Team GB medals wins. Participants can download a sweepstake pack and decide how the donations are split between the charity and the winner. The charity has set a campaign target of £5,000.

Disability Snowsport UK

Disability Snowsport UK is inviting supporters to join #TeamDSUK on their 10k for £10k Challenge this summer. Celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which started on the26th of July and will run through to the end of the Paralympics on the 8th of September. The challenge promotes inclusivity, fitness, and most of all fun! #TeamDSUK is looking for teammates to join them to raise their campaign target of £10,000. The challenges can be completed solo or as part of a team, and could be anything from a 10k run, swim or cycle, to skiing or snowboarding 10k worth of vertical metres at local ski slopes, or even climbing the stairs in the office building. Participants can take anything from one session to the full 6-week duration of the Olympics to complete the challenge.

Together for Short Lives

Together for Short Lives has come up with a great team building exercise whilst raising funds to support their vital work supporting families looking after seriously ill children in the form of Office Olympics. The charity has come up with a list of fun events including Pencil Javelin, Desk Designs, Bin Basketball and Office Chair Race. Funds can be raised through entry fees or a Just Giving page.

With the closing ceremony of the Paralympics taking place on 8th September, there is still time for charities to hold their own Olympic fundraising campaign.
